In mountainous orchard regions, fruit trees are often planted on continuous slopes, where traditional manual mowing poses high safety risks, low efficiency, and heavy labor intensity. A large citrus plantation in southern China had long relied on manual weed control, facing rising labor costs and increasing safety challenges, especially during rainy and high-temperature seasons. To address these issues, the customer introduced the Averdyn RC-800 Heavy-Duty remote control lawn mower for daily orchard maintenance.

The RC-800 features an industrial-grade tracked drive system with a maximum climbing ability of up to 45°, allowing it to operate stably on complex sloped terrain. An integrated ROPS structure combined with four-sided protective panels effectively safeguards the engine and core transmission components, significantly reducing damage caused by flying stones and branches during operation. With remote control operation, operators can work from a safe distance, greatly minimizing the risks associated with walking and bending on steep slopes.

In practical use, the RC-800 was deployed for inter-row weed management and slope trimming. The machine supports long-duration continuous operation, delivering productivity approximately 5–6 times higher than manual labor, substantially shortening the overall orchard maintenance cycle. Adjustable cutting height ensures effective weed control while protecting soil structure around tree roots.

After implementation, the orchard achieved a significant reduction in annual labor costs, while work-related safety incidents were nearly eliminated. The customer reported that the RC-800 not only improved management efficiency but also laid a solid foundation for future mechanized and intelligent orchard operations.
